San Vicente de Paul school is settled in the historical quarter of Jaen (Andalucia, Spain) since the XIX century. It educates 325 pupils (3 to 16 years old) from Nursery to low secondary. Besides, we are provided with two Integration Support Units and a Hearing and Speech Unit. Our school is becoming bilingual step by step from the bottom. In a very little time it will be bilingual in low secondary. We are a group of twenty-five teachers, a receptionist and a secretary. All of us are in permanent training and readiness for change and innovation. Our main motivations to take part in this project are linked to the priorities and the objectives of this one: Improving our students ́ and teachers ́ linguistic competence in a foreign language. Developing a set of innovative learning units and modules, which can allow even the less skilled or less motivated students to gain competences, which are at the core of our curricula. Implementing the students soft skills (teamwork, critical observation, problem solving, adaptability, presentation skills) thanks to peer to peer activities and workshops. Cooperative learning is showing us that the methodology change is possible, but we have detected we need to keep on training, combining this methodology with ICT tools and exchanging experiences with the more people we could. Opening an international line where we could find different solutions to our structural problems, such as low academic aspirations or a not enough support from families.
